Norvin Rothschild

Norvin wrote many limericks, using his own unique rhyming style. Here are a few from his collection

The one who saw furthest was Hubble,
Though his `scope caused him nothing but trouble.
He saw many a bubble,
And a great deal of rubble,
And sometimes he even saw double!

I decided that I'd build a boat,
Hoping the darn thing would float.
So I took off my coat,
And then a darn goat,
Ate the coat, causing words I can't quote!

On the porch, I was having my tea,
When along came a fat little bee.
Whether a he,
Or whether a she,
We shared tea, as it sat on my knee.

If there's one thing that I'd like to see,
You can bet it would be the sea.
To be joined by a she,
Instead of a he,
Would certainly buck up old me.

We once had a very nice cat,
Who really was getting quite fat.
He soon found a mat,
Which he shared with a rat,
And together they had a nice chat.

A limerick can be somewhat unstable,
Unless, of course, you are able,
To sit at a table,
And make up a fable,
And disregard every label from Mabel.

A bee took a flea to the sea,
Where the bee was filled up with great glee.
But the flea said, "Oh, gee!
This ain't for me!"
So the flea had to flee to be free.
