My Uncle Daniel ---
Lots of memories of Daniel are early ones. Growing up, I always wanted to go see Lucy so I spent a lot of time at 260 Storer Ave. I remember his nice smile and his deep laughter. As the years went on, I didn’t see him a lot: a few Thanksgivings at my mom’s and most recently about 4 years ago when we all had dinner at a Mexican restaurant here in LA. Always inquisitive, always asking me about my life and always smiling.

I remember him through Naomi’s stories. My favorite was when she walked him down the hall as if he were a dog because Dave & Kate wouldn’t let them have one. My mom’s fond stories of her baby brother and vaguely of him looking down at my teeth in the dentist chair.

Most of all – I thank Daniel and of course, Sylvia for giving me 3 great cousins. It’s great when I get to spend time with them and feel the bond of family. But to my favorite, Lucy, you are like my second sister; so close in age that we went through a lot of the same things at the same time growing up. Okay – so you were a little more advanced than I was in some worldly things! I love you, Lu.
